PFR-97 10% ES is a microbial insecticide containing 10.0% Isaria fumosorosea Apopoka Strain 97 (formerly Paecilomyces fumosoroseus). This entomopathogenic fungus works by infecting and growing inside target pests, eventually emerging from the dead pest to release more spores. It is OMRI listed for organic production and is used to control various insect and mite pests on vegetables, fruits, tobacco, and other food crops, as well as ornamental plants. It can be applied via foliar spray or soil application (drench, surface spray, or chemigation) in greenhouses, nurseries, landscapes, and outdoor food/non-food/seed crops. When using foliar applications, it is most effective when applied just before or at the first signs of pest presence. For soil applications, it can target root-feeding insects. Handling requires specific PPE, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and shoe covers. Applicators must also use a NIOSH-approved particulate respirator (with R or P filter or HE filter) to prevent allergic sensitization from microbial spores. Always shake well before use and maintain agitation during application.
